Globus Stores, India / Globus Shops, Indien

 Accidentally I got reminded of the Globus Stores in India today and therefore had a look at their current late summer/fall clothes in the online store. 

I made this small polyvore set in brown/red and especially this striking red skirt makes me nearly looking forward for autumn. 

The Lookbook pictures of Globus are also looking so tempting and colorful, but they are not that much suitable for daily western life, at least when you don’t want to stand out too much. 

Last time, when I was in India in 2008, I bought this skirt from Globus and it was a summer staple for two (Canadian) years in my wardrobe. By now the colors are bleached out from too much washing and the cotton got rather thin, but still I couldn’t part with it, because so many memories seem to be connected to the skirt.

I even made a small polyvore set for Anand, but the clothes are not just from Globus. The shoes and pants are from UO. He always has the problem that he doesn’t want any prints on his shirts, but finding decent shirts in his size is a constant challenge in big big, loose-fit USA. I guess at our next Trip to India most of the clothes shopping will be made for him.

Zufällig erinnerte ich mich heute an die Globus-Ladenkette in Indien und sah mir deswegen auf ihrer Homepage, die aktuelle Spätsommer/Herbst Kollektion an. Aus meinen Lieblingsstücken stellte ich das obige farblich-passende polyvore-Set zusammen, der rot-gelbe Rock sieht dabei so toll aus, daß ich mich schon fast auf Herbst freue.

Die Lookbook-Bilder von Globus selbst sind auch so farbig-fröhlich, daß man fast schon gerne alles kaufen möchte. Aber viele Dinge sind wohl nicht so ganz für den westlichen Alltag geeignet, denn solcherlei Farb- und Druckvielfalt finden wir sonst nur in der Kinderkleidung. Das ist zwar schade, aber man möchte ja nicht immer herausstechen aus den Menschenmassen wie der sprichwörtliche bunte Hund ... :)

Als ich das letzte Mal in Indien war, in 2008, hatte ich nach langem Hin- und Herüberlegen einen Rock bei Globus gekauft, der schon sehr bald mein absolutes Lieblingsstück wurde. ich trug ihn zwei Sommer lang mindestens einmal die Woche und vom vielen Waschen wurde der Stoff ganz dünn und ausgebleicht. Trotzdem wollte ich mich nicht von dem Rock trennen (ich trage ihn auch heute) es sind einfach soviele Erinnerungen damit verbunden :)

Letzlich habe ich auch ein kleines Polyvore Set für Anand gemacht. Er mag nur T-Shirts ohne Aufdruck und die findet man hier eher selten in seiner Größe. Ich denke bei unserem nächsten Urlaub in Indien werden wir mehr Kleidung für ihn kaufen als für mich.
