While being at my parent’s house I rediscovered a small book with early photos from Jaques-Henri Lartigue in the bookshelf. It once came from a Lartigue exhibition in Rostock.

As a child I was both scared and fascinated of his pictures, which often showed some kind of double layers, which I immediately interpreted as ghosts. Nowadays I’m slightly more capable of understanding the effects he tried, to create the illusion of movement in a photo… As I didn’t have a scanner at home, I just made pictures with the camera, which is quite ironic to make photos of photos, but surprisingly it went well and here they are … some of my all - time favourite Lartigue photos … :)

Als ich meine Eltern besuchte, fand ich ein kleines Buch mit Fotos von Jaques- Henri Lartigue (wieder). Es kam einst von einer Ausstellung mit seinen Fotos in Rostock. 

Als Kind war ich sowohl verängstigt als auch fasziniert von seinen Fotos, die oft eine Art doppelte Dimension zu zeigen schienen, die ich sofort als „Geister“ interpretierte. Heutzutage verstehe ich etwas besser, wie er mit diesen Effekten versuchte Bewegung darzustellen. Da ich keinen Scanner zu Hause hatte, habe ich diese Fotos mit der Kamera abfotografiert, aber das ging überraschenderweise recht gut.... und das sind sie, einige meiner Lieblings-Lartigue Fotos... :)
