I love flowers and as longer as the – spring / no spring, warm / cold - weather continues, more and more flower prints happen to find their way into my home. They simply remind me of happy summer days.
My husband sees all of this very critically, because we want to move in two months and he would rather like to see me sorting things out than continue adding some…. But, some things seem to add themselves.

When I saw these gorgeous bowls with flowers and butterflies in the thrift store, I really thought for longer time about moving and porcelain while holding the bowls in my hand, so that no one else could pick them up, eventually I couldn’t resist bringing them home.
Thankfully, we already looked for such medium sized bowls long ago… and since we have them, they happen to be in constant use.
The small black side table was in a very bad condition, when I found it standing next to the garbage cans. But again, the flower painting persuaded me, to pick up the table and bring it home. I had to re-new large parts of the black paint and because I did not had the exact black colour; I finished the table with a clear gloss acrylic spray. The gloss brings the same amount of shining to the whole table and therefore ties together the different shades of black.
The side table fits that perfect in a small corner next to the entrance that most people don’t even realize, that it wasn’t there since always. The only disadvantage is that I have to clean the gloss lacquer table, daily.
My third item for today is a Maxi-Dress, which I liked not just because of its wild flower print, but also because it not just looks like being from Hawaii, but it actually is “Made in Hawaii.” Although my husband said, that I look like a tree, I don’t care and love wearing it… :-)
Ich liebe Blumen und je länger das – Frühling/ kein Frühling, warm/ kalt – Wetter andauert, scheinen mehr und mehr Blumendrucke ihren Weg ins Haus zu finden. Sie erinnern mich einfach an schöne Sommertage und machen glücklich. Mein Mann sieht das natürlich alles etwas kritisch, schließlich wollen wir in zwei Monaten ausziehen und er würde mich lieber Dinge aussortieren sehen, als daß noch weitere hinzugefügt werden.. aber manche Stücke scheinen sich quasi selbst hinzuzufügen.
Als ich die obigen hinreißenden Schalen mit Blumen und Schmetterlingen im Second Hand-Laden sah, habe ich tatsächlich eine Weile über Umzüge und Porzellan nachgedacht, während ich die Schalen in der Hand hielt, damit sie kein anderer wegschnappen konnte. Aber dann konnte ich nicht widerstehen und habe sie gekauft. Glücklicherweise hatten wir bereits seit einiger Zeit nach Schalen mittlerer Größe gesucht und seitdem wir sie haben, befinden sie sich in ständigem Gebrauch.
Der kleine schwarze Beistelltisch war in sehr schlechtem Zustand, als ich ihn neben den Mülltonnen stehend fand. Aber die handgemalten Blumen überzeugten mich doch, diesen mitzunehmen. Ich musste große Teile der schwarzen Farbe erneuern und da ich nicht den gleichen schwarzen Farbton hatte, überzog ich den Tisch zum Abschluß mit einem hochglänzenden Klarlackspray. Dadurch glänzen alle Farbschattierungen nun gleichmäßig und verbinden so die unterschiedlichen Schwarztöne. Der Beistelltisch passt so gut in eine kleine Nische neben der Eingangstür, daß den meisten Leuten, die zu Besuch kommen, nicht einmal auffällt, daß der Tisch nicht schon immer dort stand. Der einzige Nachteil ist, daß man einen hochglänzenden Lacktisch täglich putzen muss. Mein drittes Blumenobjekt ist ein Maxi-Kleid, das ich nicht nur wegen dem wilden Blumendruck mochte, sondern weil es nicht nur so aussieht als wäre es aus Hawaii, sondern es ist tatsächlich „Made in Hawaii.“ Obwohl mein Mann sagt, damit würde ich aussehen wie ein Baum, ist mir das egal und ich trage es ausgesprochen gerne... :-)
