In the cold / In der Kälte

When I recently read this article in SevenDays about the artist Wylie Sofia Garcia, I wanted to find out more about her project to wear one dress each month and alter it daily. Therefore I was visiting her homepage and previous works (I love this dress), which are breathtakingly amazing and also added her Project Blog to my weekly must - reads, although this isn’t that simple, because I do have problems reading the black text on the grey background. 

I often have the feeling that regardless which background design someone is having, my eyes are happiest, when the reading section looks more or less like a book. But, of course the pictures are much more important on this page, anyways… :)

I wanted to make a small homage to the idea, but didn’t really know what to do without being a copycat, so I decided to go for a reverse strip poker and simply put on more and more clothes, instead of less… Therefore the photo shoot ended pretty soon (so my project just made one day instead of many months…), because you can just put a limited amount of clothes on yourself. Of course I could have continued a little bit more, but it simply got too warm inside… :))

My outside outfit was slightly different, because I trusted my red boots more in the snow than the leather ones. 

Als ich kürzlich diesen Artikel (in Englisch) in der Zeitung SevenDays über die Künstlerin Wylie Sofia Garcia las, wollte ich mehr über ihr Projekt erfahren. Sie möchte für ein Jahr jeden Monat nur ein Kleid tragen und dieses täglich verändern. Deswegen besuchte ich ihre Homepage und sah mir eine Auswahl ihrer (für mich) äußerst interessanten Arbeiten an. (Ist das Kleid nicht toll?) Außerdem werfe ich nun wöchentlich einen Blick in ihren Blog um mir die Fortschritte des jeweiligen Monatskleides anzusehen. Es ist leider etwas schwierig die dazugehörigen Texte durchzulesen, da der Blog einen dunkelgrauen Hintergrund hat und der Text schwarz ist, aber hier geht es auch hauptsächlich um die Bilder ... :)

Ich wollte diese Idee durch eine kleine Hommage würdigen und dachte mir, ich spiele Strip Poker rückwärts und ziehe einfach immer mehr Kleidungsstücke an. Da es darin natürliche Grenzen wie z.B. die Größe meiner Kleider gibt, war meine Fotostrecke alsbald zu Ende (gut, mein Projekt dauerte also nicht einmal einen Tag) und es wurde auch einfach zu warm unter all der Kleidung.

Meine Echt-Draußenversion verzichtete aufgrund des Schnees auf die Lederstiefel (und so manche Lage unter der Jacke, man will ja schließlich im Winter nicht schwitzen ;) und meine wasserfesten Winterstiefel passen schließlich auch, irgendwie... :)
