The blue Skirt / Der blaue Rock

Ever since I saw this blue maxi skirt at Anthropologie (link), I knew that I wanted a similar skirt.

It didn’t need to be embroidered and was allowed to cost less than the original $168, but it was supposed to be blue > not teal, turquoise, navy… just the most basic, primary color ‘blue’ even a child could imagine.

So when I found a kid-sized Hawaiian muumuu for $1 at the church charity shop, I was very happy. 

I cut the dress just under the sleeves to have a long skirt, sewed a casing to add an elastic band and there it was, my own blue skirt with a pretty Hawaiian print. 

I already imagined winter days with long white socks and a white sweater would be my first opportunity to wear the skirt, but a couple of hot late summer days allowed for a day out.

Seit ich im Sommer diesen Rock bei Anthropologie (Link) gesehen hatte, träumte ich davon einen eigenen blauen, langen Sommerrock zu besitzen. Er musste nicht unbedingt bestickt sein, und durfte gerne weniger als 168 $ kosten, doch er sollte blau sein : nicht türkis, marine, petrolfarben... nur ein einfaches Blau wie aus dem Schulmalkasten. 

Daher war ich sehr froh, als ich ein Maxikleid für Kinder aus Hawaii im Kirchladen fand und es nur 1 $ kostete. Ich schnitt das Kleid direkt unter den Ärmeln ab, nähte einen Tunnelzug, zog das Gummiband ein und fertig war mein neuer Rock :) 

 .

Da die heißen Sommertage schon lange hinter uns liegen, dachte ich, daß ich den Rock eher mit langen Stricksocken und Pullover tragen werde - doch für ein paar verrückte Tage, war der Hochsommer plötzlich wieder da und ich konnte meinen Rock doch einmal als Sommerrock ausführen :)
